I started writing my first novel when I was eight. Volumes of poetry, short stories and comic books followed. Then, I enrolled in extracurricular art classes. I wanted to become a painter. After high school, I studied fine arts for three years - until my parents suggested this might not be a viable career. I temporarily put aside my passion for painting, and off I went to university. After two journalism degrees and a career as a newspaper editor, freelance writer, and marketing communications consultant, I finally figured it out. What I love to do most - painting and writing - can be combined in the world of children's books.
